Let’s jump right in, shall we?

Tavala Review – The Company

Tavala review

The company operates within the MLM niche of health and nutrition, and they operate out of Utah in the US.

The founder, Boyd Wathen, and current CEO, Allen Davis, are the leaders of the business.

According to Wathen’s company corporate biography found online, he:

made his fortunes holding multiple patents for his inventions in various industries.

He married his love for science and health by formulating products for very large Network Marketing companies.

Wathen, along with a partner David Brown, created the Plexus Worldwide’s Slim weight loss supplement, a.k.a. the “Pink Drink.”

Slim is a product that is widely recognized throughout the MLM world.

Wathen and Brown then went on to start-up another MLM called TruVision Health.

That business is still doing well, with Brown listed as a “founding partner” for the company on the company’s website.

Wathen’s LinkedIn profile identifies him as a co-founder of the N4U International business.

And in more recent news, Wathen is listed as a “primary investor” in the company Divvee.

Some background here on Davis (Tavala CEO), he was also the CEO of Divvee and a general counsel for the company TruVision Health.

In 2015, Divvee was launched and offered a monthly membership, which gave access to discounts available.

BV (Business Volume) is the sales volume achieved by retail customer orders.

GV (Group Volume) is the BV achieved through an affiliate’s downline team.

NOTE: Monthly GV stipulates that only 50% can be attained from one leg of sponsorship.

Retail Commissions

Company affiliates are offered a retail commission payment of 10% on orders made by retail customers.

Recruitment Commissions

A 20% commission on generated sales volume (BV) is paid to an affiliate who sponsors a new affiliate that signs up with an Alpha Box ($219.99) or Builder Box ($439.99).

Residual Commissions

The company uses a unilevel compensation model to pay out residual commissions to its affiliates.

The unilevel compensation model puts an affiliate at the top of a unilevel team, which places any personally sponsored affiliate on level 1 right underneath the original affiliate.

When a level 1 affiliate sponsors new affiliates, they are then put onto level 2 of the original affiliate’s unilevel team.

When a level 2 affiliate sponsors new affiliates, they are then placed onto level 3, and levels continue to be created like this down as many levels as are needed.

Payable unilevel levels are capped at Level 10, where commissions that are paid out will be done so as a percentage of sales volume achieved among those 10 levels:

  • Member – 20% on level 1 (personally sponsored affiliates)
  • Titanium – 20% on level 1 and 25% on level 2
  • Silver – 20% on level 1 and 25% on levels 2 and 3
  • Palladium – 20% on level 1, 25% on levels 2 and 3 and 6% on level 4
  • Platinum – 20% on level 1, 25% on levels 2 and 3, 6% on level 4 and 5% on level 5
  • Rose – 20% on level 1, 25% on levels 2 and 3, 6% on level 4 and 5% on levels 5 and 6
  • White – 20% on level 1, 25% on levels 2 and 3, 6% on level 4, 5% on levels 5 and 6 and 4% on level 7
  • 14 Karat Gold – 20% on level 1, 25% on levels 2 and 3, 6% on level 4, 5% on levels 5 and 6 and 4% on levels 7 and 8
  • 18 Karat Gold – 20% on level 1, 25% on levels 2 and 3, 6% on level 4, 5% on levels 5 and 6, 4% on levels 7 and 8 and 3% on level 9
  • 24 Karat Gold and higher – 20% on level 1, 25% on levels 2 and 3, 6% on level 4, 5% on levels 5 and 6, 4% on levels 7 and 8 and 3% on levels 9 and 10

Lifestyle Bonus

A monthly bonus is available to Palladium ranked or higher ranked affiliates, called the Lifestyle Bonus:

  • Palladium affiliates receive $350 (must purchase 30 BV of product each month)
  • Platinum affiliates receive $750 (must purchase 60 BV of product each month)
  • Rose Gold affiliates receive $1500 (must purchase 90 BV of product each month)
  • White Gold affiliates receive $2000 (must purchase 120 BV of product each month)

NOTE: The qualifying rank must be held by the affiliate for 2 months prior to the Lifestyle Bonus pay out.

In the company compensation plan, it says an affiliate ‘must have (an) active subscription,‘ in order to meet the requirements for the Lifestyle Bonus.

The company calls autoship an “Active Subscription.”

Rank Achievement Bonus

The company rewards affiliates with a one-time Rank Achievement Bonus if they meet the requirements of the rank of 14 Karat Gold or higher:

  • 14 Karat Gold = $10,000
  • 18 Karat Gold = $25,000
  • 24 Karat Gold = $50,000
  • Founders Circle = $100,000
  • Legacy Circle = $500,000
  • Elite Circle = $1,000,000

The ranks shown above must be held by the affiliate for 5 months before the Rank Achievement Bonus is paid to the affiliate.

Global Pool

The company collects company-wide compensation and puts it into a Global pool, which is referred to as “breakage.”

The affiliates whom rank at 24 Karat Gold or higher earn shares in this pool by rank:

  • 24 Karat Gold affiliates receive 1 share
  • Founders Circle affiliates receive 2 shares
  • Legacy Circle affiliates receive 3 shares
  • Elite Circle affiliates receive 4 shares

Every 4 weeks, the Global pool is paid out to those qualifying affiliates.

Cost To Join Tavala

The cost to join Tavala as an affiliate is free.

NOTE: Some of the bonuses available do require affiliates to have a monthly autoship standing order with the company.

Verdict of Tavala

Great news, we are here at the end of my review, and now I can finally let you know my final verdict of this company and I think you could consider this company if you are looking for a weight loss nutrition MLM opportunity to invest in (aside from the autoships, it does look like it may be worth further consideration).

This company may not totally be new and innovative as they have jumped on the heels of the market targeted and owned by Plexus Worldwide’s “Pink Drink” Slim.

But that being said, this company has its own branded product called Trim.

And since Trim is in the same market as Slim, this is not a bad thing as Slim is very recognizable (probably for good reasons), and since the company is also structured after this product, a little competition is always good (since Plexus will no longer have a monopoly over a product like this), there’s a new product in town creating new options for buyers.

With only one other similar product (a protein shake), the rest of the products offered by the company are different from Plexus Worldwide, keeping them in the game.

The company compensation plan did catch my attention at first when I read it had no monthly PV necessities.

This was awesome to see and it kind of says that the company’s compensation plan could have been made with modern regulatory requirements in mind, well that is until you get to the “active subscriptions” part of it.

Although the autoship orders are not mandatory for company affiliates, the company does try hard to get you to subscribe when you sign up, and can you really sign up as an affiliate without autoship orders?

Well, it seems that you can’t get around it if you want to fully participate in the company’s compensation plan, as it does require you to have standing orders (30 to 120 BV in autoships).

Free shipping is an incentive used by the company, as the company will charge full shipping costs to those affiliates without an autoship order.

The direct sponsorship commission of new affiliates shows the company’s affiliates are getting paid to sponsor new affiliates, and this can be another red flag in regulations to be followed by the company.

My advice? Take caution, but if this is exactly what you’ve been looking for, it might be worth it to consider this company for your investment needs…
