Welcome to my Pure Light Technologies Review!
This company recently hit my radar, so I had to investigate and find out what it was all about…
There’s a chance that someone has approached you about this business recently, either in person or on social media…
Now you’re probably here because you want to make sure it’s actually legit, right?
I am glad you are doing your research before you decide to join…
A lot of people jump into companies like this, then get burned later because they missed some huge red flags.
In my blog post I am going to walk you through the company history, the products and their compensation plan, so you can make the right decision whether to join or not…
Come on, and let’s find out if they’re legit or a scam!
Pure Light Technologies Review – The Company
The company is centered out of Idaho, USA, and operates within the MLM niche of Energy.
Roger K. Young is the current CEO and President of the business.
It was in the year 2014 when the company first started-up as Total Solar Super Green.
The name was changed from Total Solar Super Green to Pure-Light Technologies, Inc. in October of 2015.
PURE-LIGHT TECHNOLOGIES, INC. is a subsidiary of Total Solar Technologies, LLC with manufacturing facilities located in Rigby, Idaho.
The CEO of Total Solar Technologies was Roger Young as well.
In 2011, Young had launched a “food storage” MLM business, which was called Free Food 2 Go, and this was the most I was able to find for Young’s MLM work history.
If you enjoy, “off the grid living” this company is for you, as it seems like that’s the main objective of Total Solar Technologies.
According to Roger Young, he claims that he’s been:
heavily involved in prepping for 25 years and solar energy for 20 years, even living off grid completely for 7 years in the mountains of Montana raising their kids. (Yes, most of the kids were home schooled.)
Pure Light Technologies Reviews – The Products
The company offers products, like lightbulbs, that are “based on NASA technology” that “clean and purify the air”.
Pure-Light was formed in 2014 after helping to develop a way to seal a transparent coating of a newly developed TiO2 enhanced formulation (that allows for the TiO2 photocatalytic action in low light) that would last up to 10+ years on light emitting devices.
Pure-Light Technologies has filed a patent pending application on the process.
Nothing came up when I ran a fast search at the US Patent and Trademark office for either “Pure Light Technologies” or “Total Solar Technologies.”
With a “simple explanation” on the company website, Total Solar Technologies offers some answers about their “Pure-Light super oxygen technology” that exists within their light blubs.
PURE-LIGHT TECHNOLOGIES, using a new patent pending process that PLT developed, coats a light bulb with an ultra- thin, transparent coating of a new proprietary enhanced Titanium Dioxide formula (Z-TiO2 ) that reacts with light to produce super oxygen molecules that dissolve viruses, bacteria, mold and breaks down toxic VOCs.
As air comes near the PURE-LIGHT coated light bulbs (approximately 8ft—12 ft) it gets cleansed of these bacteria, viruses, mold, and pollutants.
The air also gets deodorized as well since almost all odors are an organic compound.
There is also a secondary PURE-LIGHT effect on the surfaces of items near the light bulb, such as kitchen/bathroom counters, dishes, stoves, cutting boards, door knobs, etc.
While there is no data related to the company’s own products, what is offered are scientific studies linking the use of titanium dioxide nanoparticles.
The company advertises their light blubs as:
proven to kill 99.9% of bacteria, viruses, fungus, and mold… including MRSA, E-COLI, STAPH, CRE, Salmonella and other diseases…even those viruses and bacteria that have become resistant to antibiotics.
The cost of Pure Light Technologies’ LED bulbs are:
- $24.95 for a single bulb
- $144 for a 6 pack
- $280 for a 12 pack (shipping is extra).
Other companies that have retail products are Trevo, Kyani and Fuxion.
The Pure Light Technologies Compensation Plan
The company pays affiliates to market and sell the Pure Light LED lightbulb.
Retail Commissions
There is a 10% commission rate available on the sales of LED lightbulbs to retail consumers.
Residual Commissions
The company uses a unilevel compensation model to pay out residual commission to its affiliates.
The unilevel compensation model puts an affiliate at the top of a unilevel team, where any personally sponsored affiliate is put directly underneath them onto level 1.
When a level 1 affiliate sponsors new affiliates, they are then put onto level 2 of the original affiliate’s unilevel team.
When a level 2 affiliate sponsors new affiliates, they are then put onto level 3, and the level creation in the unilevel team continues in this manner down a hypothetical never ending amount of levels.
The company does cap payable levels at level 4 of the unilevel team, where commissions are paid to affiliates as a percentage of sales among the 4 levels:
- Level 1 (personally sponsored affiliates) – 10%
- Level 2 – 5% (10% if an affiliate signs up before December 31st, 2017)
- Levels 3 and 4 (must have sponsored at least 20 affiliates) – 5%
Special Bonuses
In order to be designated at the Gold Star rank, a company affiliate will have had to sponsor 20 new affiliates.
Also, if Gold Star affiliates sponsor 20 or more affiliates who also rank as Gold Star affiliates, they are now ranked as Gold Double Star affiliates.
The company’s ranking Gold 2 Star affiliates qualify for Special Bonuses such as: “cruises, cars, vacation packages etc”.
Profit Sharing
Gold Diamond rank is reserved for those affiliates who sponsor 20 or more Gold Double Star affiliates.
The ranked Gold Diamond affiliates then qualify for shares at 0.5% of the sales revenue made company-wide.
The Gold Diamond affiliates will get 1 share in the Profit Sharing pool for every $5000 in earned commissions from their unilevel team (where the shares are reset every year).
Cost To Join Pure Light Technologies
The cost to join Pure Light Technologies as an affiliate can be paid 2 ways, firstly you can pay an upfront affiliate membership fee of $50, or you can get a “free” membership if you buy $150 worth of products from the company.
Verdict on Pure Light Technologies
Now I don’t claim to be a scientist, but by doing my research I can say if you’re interested in this company that you should proceed with caution…
This company presents a great product that has amazing capabilities, yet there is not enough evidence as to whether the lightbulbs are truly coated with an ultra-thin, clear Titanium Dioxide layer or how it would be done…
The company also advertises their product as being an antibacterial lightbulb that cures everything and provides hospital-grade lightbulb protection…but can it really do it all?… there’s also no proof for this data either.
No one is saying whether the product works or not, but where’s the vigorous testing that needs to be done before you put something like this on the market…
Also, you can’t really move up in the company unless you sponsor your butt off and basically never stop sponsoring, as this is where the majority of your income will come from and not from your sales…
Their payout is basic, and keeping it to four levels is manageable…
They actually have products to sell and purchase, so it’s not your typical format for a scam…so my recommendation is to proceed with caution…maybe purchase a lightbulb or two and try it out for yourself before committing to selling them yourself…
